General Information
The Village Treasurer serves as chief fiscal officer of the Village. The Village Treasurer acts as purchasing agent and handles the investment of Village Funds.
The Village Treasurer's Office processes payroll for Village employees and pay all bills to vendors for purchased goods and services.
The Village's fiscal year is June 1 - May 31. The Village Treasurer is responsible for completing an annual financial statement of the village's revenues, expenditures and outstanding indebtedness.
The Village Treasurer also serves as Budget Officer.
Budget Process:
February 8 - Written notification to Department Heads.
March 1 - Department Head estimates submitted to Budget Officer
On or before March 20 - Budget Officer files tentative budget with Village Clerk
By March 31 - Village Clerk presents tentative budget to Village Trustees at a regular or special meeting.
On or before April 15 - A public hearing must be held
No later than May 1 - Budget is adopted
