Village Justice Simays

I have enjoyed being a Village Justice since 1992. I have handled nearly 10,000 motor vehicle cases, almost 4000 criminal cases and 1400 civil cases. However, this career does have it's enjoyable moments, and I have preformed 218 marriage ceremonies, with not a dry eye in the place. Being a Justice has been a satisfying and rewarding career, and  I attempt to maintain a high sense of professionalism to the very important position that I hold. In 2006 the Malone Village Justice Court has ranked first in Franklin county in the amount of fines and surcharges that have been collected, and rank 401 in the state of New York. In total the Malone Village Justice court forwarded $131,195.50 to the Village of Malone in 2006; and for being a small town, these numbers are quiet impressive. I initially helped work on getting Malone Village Justice Court computerized, which has been most beneficial for the day-to-day operations of our court system. I attempt to dispense justice with compassion, honesty, and judge each case on its own merits. I feel that it is of the utmost importance to be forthright, sympatric and to handle each case in a humanitarian fashion in order to uphold the integrity of the court. The court system on the local level, as humble as it may be tends to be the very backbone of the judicial system, handling everything from felonies to the smallest violations; and I am honored to be a part of this system.
