The duties of the clerk include keeping the minutes of the Village Board meetings, maintaining records of adopted Village Ordinances and Local Laws, Oaths of Office, proofs of publications, annual budgets and zoning ordinances and maps. The clerk also keeps records pertaining to employees of the Village of Malone and works with the Franklin County Civil Service Program/Personnel Office at the court house. The clerk also issues State licenses/permits for such things as conservation, bingo and handicapped parking.

Karen Elmer-Pritchard is the Village of Malone Deputy Clerk.

On this page, there are links to the Village Board meeting minutes and various forms that need to be completed for permits and licensing. Please keep in mind that there are fees associated with certain permits.

The Village Registrar of Vital Statistics is the keeper of all birth and death records within the Village; this person issues birth and death records, burial permits, as well as genealogical searches. Cindy Gadway is the Deputy Registrar for the Village of Malone. Linda Shova is the sub registrar of the Village. There are forms that must be filled out, if you are interested in obtaining vital statistics. On the forms, it explains what the protocol is for obtaining such records. There are fees involved with such requests. Please see the list of forms at the bottom of this page.

 The Receiver of Taxes is an appointed position. Collection of village taxes start on June 1st through November 10th annually. Payments may be made by sending them through the mail or in person at the Village Offices, at 14 Elm Street, Malone New York 12953. The office hours during the month of June are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. For the months of July and August, the Village Offices are on summer hours which are 8 a.m. through 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. In the fall, specifically September, the Village Offices return to their normal business hours. Payments may be made by cash, check or money order. Credit and Debit cards are not accepted at this time.
